No, Showbiz Tonight crossed the line. The doctor claims they made fun
of the victim, but they actually portrayed what happens all too often
in domestic abuse relationships; the victim rationalizing the abuse,
something she later admitted is what really happens. Sorry, "Doctor"
Walsh, you can't have it both ways. Either they were making fun of
her or it wasn't satire. Take your pick and stick with it.

And it wasn't a depressing episode. Halfway through I was saying,
"Just kill the bastard!" AFAIC, the show ended on a very happy note.
I have a feeling most people who would complain in this manner just
aren't fans of the show and are just looking for yet another reason to
bitch and moan about it.
