So, a hurricane struck Alabama? And what makes them think next spring
will be tornado free?

Where did you get "next spring"? All that the article said was, they
would air "next season". In fact, if AD's rumored summer move to 9:30
remains intact in the fall (and Fox's summer moves usually do), they
can make the hurricane episodes the season premieres (if AD stays at
7:30, they have to wait until it's not a Fox NFL doubleheader day).

BTW, they are being replaced with repeats (although the new Simpsons
episode will air as planned).

20 years ago this November NBC did the same thing with their Saturday night
comedies: A hurricane passed through Miami on a hour-long Golden Girls
followed by Empty Nest and Nurses. All three series were from the same
producers.

i remember that.. and my NBC station preceded that with the "On Scene" episode about the 1991 Kansas tornado so in a effect it was "Tornado and Hurricane Saturday" at least in my market!

That's good, those Alabamians have short memories, they'll have forgotten
all about it by then.

Well, maybe relatives that live in another area of the country would
feel it's insensitive. But people who've been hit hard by them
personally very likely wouldn't have power or a tv to watch anyway.

Are you going to suffer by missing these episodes? Suffering might
describe watching any Cleveland Show.

Anyway if the episode is shown early in the season it might coincide with a
REAL hurricane hitting somewhere...and be yanked again.

I was looking forward to this storyline all season. I don't think
anyone looking for sensitivity should be tuning into one of Seth's
shows.

I remember when The WB pulled an episode of Buffy after Columbine
because it involved her stopping a student from using a sniper rifle,
I thought that was a mistake too.

That is the problem when you go down this road, everything becomes
something that might offend someone.

I remember when Fox moved an episode of "The Critic" to the series
finale because it dealt with a bomb (and ended with the bomb going off
inside a building) and the Oklahoma City bombing took place less than
a week before its original scheduled air date.

There was also an "American Dad" episode that was delayed because it
included (a) Stan wearing Virginia Tech clothing and (b) somebody
chasing them with guns, and it was right after the Virginia Tech
shootings. (When they did air it, Stan's clothing had changed to
Georgetown.)

Well, in today's hypersensitive world, you don't have to actually see a
show like this to be offended by it. You only have to be told that Fox
aired a comedy show with a storm in its plot and you can rise up in
righteous offended indignation.

So we're offended about shows that make fun of bad weather now. The
insanity.
