I wonder if she regrets doing the Wild Thornberrys now, especially
with the blasphemous talking
monkey named Darwin and all...

Lacey Chubert (Party of Five, Wild Thornberrys, Mean Girls) now
regrets doing _Family Guy_,
according to an upcoming article in People magazine.
The 24 year old actress, who has seen success in both animation,
television, and cinema,
voiced the character "Meg Griffin" for the first season of _Family
Guy_ in 1999. The show was
initially canceled in 2000, and when it returned for 2001 she had been
replaced by Mila
Kunis (_That 70's Show_).
Lacey now expresses remorse and regret over this decision, and says
this along with the
film _Black Christmas_ is a blemish on her career.
"When I first signed on to voice the character, I had no idea what the
show was about,",
says the young actress, who has also done plays and musicals like _Les
Miserables_.
"As soon as I read the scripts, I paled. Here were the most anti-
Christian, anti-moral,
anti-human words I had ever read being committed to paper as "jokes"
to entertain
children and young adults! I felt like I had sold my soul to the
devil."
Chubert was unable to extract herself from the show due to an already
signed
contract; however she requested and was removed from the credits of
_Family Guy_.
"The whole time I felt so terrible. It was like prostitution or
something. All those jokes
about Jesus, who is my Savior and Christ. The words I had to recite
came out of my
mouth like rusty nails, and I could feel my soul bleed as I betrayed
my Lord for thirty
pieces of silver."
Chubert also claims that she was the victim of practical jokes on the
set and that
she was targeted for her beliefs.
"One time they took my cross of the Lord necklace while I was changing
my clothes
in a trailer and hid it for three days, until I found it floating in a
cup of V8 spiked with
some kind of liquor. Then they called me "Bloody Mary" for months
after that and
the one producer (Seth McFarlane, producer and voice of many
characters on
_Family Guy_) would always do that stupid laugh under his breath every
time I walked
by. You know, the one the dad does."
Chubert says that now she is in a better place emotionally, and enjoys
a healthy family
life with her parents and siblings. She recently did a pilot for FOX
but it was not picked
up. She also posed for Maxim in January 2007.
"It's better now. I go to church twice a week, sometimes three if I
need a spiritual boost.
Praise the Lord!"
