Family Guy has recruited two familiar TV voices for an upcoming episode,
and those voices belong to Maya Rudolph and Glenn Howerton. Rudolph, a
veteran of SNL and Up All Night, will assume the role of an avid runner
who catches Brian’s eye. To win her over, he pretends to be a fellow
jogger. “After Brian experiences the ‘runner’s high’, he becomes a
distance running douche, and even signs himself up to run a marathon,”
Family Guy executive producer Steve Callaghan tells EW.

Meanwhile, Howerton, star/writer/executive producer of It’s Always Sunny
in Philadelphia, voices the publisher of a children’s book that Joe has
been toiling on. “After Peter gets a glimpse of Joe’s book, he
encourages Joe to try to get it published,” says Callaghan. “And before
he knows it, Joe is a famous children’s book author.”

The Rudolph-Howerton episode is tentatively slated to air next fall on
Fox.

Other celebrities on the animated comedy’s guest roster this season
include Michelle Dockery, Conan O’Brien and Jeff Daniels.

Don't you know death on tv doesn't really mean dead?

I was kind of being sarcastic. I find it hard to believe they really did
kill Brian off, and suddenly there is this story.

I assumed the earlier comments about how there were still episodes with
Brian meant they were airing episodes out of sequence, but this just
indicates all of last night's episode was really just a dream.

Actually, except for one episode ("A Fistful of Meg") held over from
last season, all the episodes aired so far this season have been in
production order. Brian is featured in two upcoming titles ("Brian's a
Bad Father" and "Brian the Closer"). There is still one more episode
from last season ("3 Acts of God") scheduled for January 26, 2014.
